How Do We Evaluate Your Application?
The Admissions Team at Glasgow Caledonian New York College reviews all applications holistically. We believe there are many paths to an impact-focused career, and our students come from a wide array of academic and professional backgrounds. You should demonstrate a readiness for graduate-level coursework, and in your statement of purpose you will have the opportunity to tell us more about you: the person behind the transcript and resume, your passions, and your career aspirations.
U.S. Bachelor’s Degree or International Equivalent
All three Master’s programs require a four-year bachelors degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA or equivalent. If your degree is from an institution outside the United States, the Admissions Team requires you to submit translated and evaluated post-secondary credentials. GCNYC recommends utilizing World Education Services, Inc. (WES), a third-party verification agency for a course-by-course evaluation for admission consideration. Other evaluation services will also be accepted for review. The Admissions Team will use the evaluation provided to determine if the degree is the equivalent of a four-year bachelors degree.
English Language Proficiency
All three Masters programs require a solid grasp of the English language, both written and spoken. Applicants who did not complete a degree at an institution where the medium of instruction is English are required to submit IELTS or equivalent scores for the Admissions Team to review.

Résumé
Post-Secondary Institution Transcripts
- Glasgow Caledonian New York College requires all post-secondary school transcripts for admission. Unofficial transcripts are allowed for application review but official transcripts must be submitted upon admittance into a Masters program.
- If your degree is from an institution outside the United States, you must submit an official evaluation of post-secondary credentials from a NACES-approved agency (e.g. WES or other approved agency), demonstrating U.S. bachelor’s degree equivalency.
- The Admissions Team will use the evaluation provided to determine if the degree is the equivalent of a four-year bachelors degree. Official, translated and evaluated transcripts must be sent electronically, via courier, or brought in person upon arrival to the College.
Statement of Purpose
The statement of purpose is your opportunity to frame your skills, motivations, and aspirations in relation to a values-based question. Please be sure to answer the specific question asked by your program of choice. The essay should be a maximum of 750 words.
Letters of Recommendation (OPTIONAL)
Letters of recommendation are optional!
If you decide to submit letters, please have your recommenders submit their recommendation directly to admissions@gcnyc.com on official letterhead with the subject line being your name and program of interest.

PTE: 59 (school code: 67L)
Duolingo: 95 – 100
The Admissions Team accepts test scores taken within the past two years. If scores are older, the test must be retaken.

GCNYC Application Deadlines
The Admissions Team encourages all prospective students to submit their application as early as possible to ensure a timely review process before each program reaches capacity. International students are strongly encouraged to submit their applications by the priority deadline to ensure ample time for the visa process and to secure accommodations.
Application decisions are delivered electronically through the application portal on a rolling basis, roughly 24 to 48 hours after an application is submitted with all materials.
A $500 deposit, credited toward your first-term tuition, is required to confirm your enrollment.

Scholarships
At GCNYC, we believe that a college education is an investment for a brighter future. Our institutional commitment to furthering our ‘For the Common Good’ mission and our equally strong desire to build a diverse academic community made of passionate students means that GCNYC makes every reasonable attempt to help qualified students.
Students receiving a scholarship from GCNYC must be enrolled in at least two courses per “term” (minimum 4.5 credits) and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

We are proud to offer merit-based Common Good Scholarships typically ranging from $5,000 to $10,000.
COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement
GCNYC will require the COVID-19 vaccination and booster for all new and returning students who are present on campus.
While we are strongly encouraging all eligible students to receive their approved COVID-19 vaccine and booster in their home state prior to arrival, we will work closely with those individuals who are unable to do so and facilitate vaccination in New York prior to the start of classes.
GCNYC Application Policies
Failure to submit complete, accurate, and authentic application documents consistent with admission instructions may result in denial or cancellation of admission to Glasgow Caledonian New York College. Applicants may be required to assist the Admissions Team in the verification of all documents submitted as part of the application review process.
All admissions decisions are final. The Admissions Team reviews each application holistically and thoroughly.
