COVID-19 VACCINATION POLICY

Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination and Booster Shots

The health and safety of our GCNYC and New York City community remains the College’s top priority. At this time GCNYC is requiring all students and employees to be vaccinated and boosted (with an FDA-authorized or WHO-listed vaccine) before coming to campus. Students and employees are required to submit proof of their Covid-19 vaccination status after receiving their final dose.

All on-campus students and employees must receive their Covid-19 vaccinations and booster/s prior to coming to campus. Details on how to upload are below.

Regardless of vaccination status, all students and employees should continue to monitor their health and anyone with exposure to someone with Covid-19, experiences Covid-19 symptoms or who has tested positive for Covid-19 should follow the guidance above and advise the College as soon as possible at covidresponse@gcnyc.com so that we can continue to make well-informed public health decisions about in-person activity on campus.

How to Upload Your Proof of Vaccination

There are two ways to upload proof of vaccination and booster,

Use Your Clear To Go App

  1. Open the app on your device
  2. On the main screen, swipe left to the green “Vaccinations” button
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions and upload a photo of your vaccine card

Upload Online

  1. Click on this link and follow the instructions to upload a photo of your vaccine card (this works better using the Google Chrome browser).

Once you have uploaded your proof of vaccination and booster, your submission will be approved or rejected within 4-5 days. You will receive a notification to your device letting you know the status of your submission. Your Clear To Go digital badge will be automatically updated.

Note: If you are a new student or employee and do not have access to the Clear To Go app yet, please contact covidresponse@gcnyc.com.

If You Lost Your Vaccine Card

Contact the site where you received your vaccine or your state’s health department.

What If I am Not Getting Vaccinated?

Individuals who are not getting vaccinated will not be able to participate in classes on campus at this time. They will be able to participate in classes remotely. See more information on mode of attendance below.

How is GCNYC Maintaining the Security of my Vaccination Information?

GCNYC will store your information on a secure site. Your information will only be accessible by select College officials and only used for the purpose of preventing and responding to the presence of Covid-19 on campus. Individual vaccination cards will only be stored for 1 year.

CLEAR TO GO HEALTH SCREENING

Completing the Health Screening

GCNYC has implemented a Covid-19 health screening system called Clear To Go. Students and employees will be required to complete the screening via an app on your phone prior to entering campus each day. This will help us to ensure that everyone who enters the building has submitted proof of vaccination and allow us to easily contact trace if needed.

How it works:

-On the days that you’re scheduled to come to campus for work or classes, open the app to complete the screening.

-The questions are quick, simple and should take no more than 30 seconds to complete.

-As you enter campus you will open the app on your phone, click “Badge” and scan it on an iPad at the security desk.

-Your “Badge” will also indicate if you have submitted your Proof of Vaccination form to the College.

Please check your email for further instructions or contact covidresponse@gcnyc.com for assistance.

 CONFIDENTIALITY AND NON-DISCLOSURE

Health information about a student, employee or their family member obtained solely for the purposes of absence arrangements, utilizing sick leave or government mandated reporting shall be treated as confidential and shall only be disclosed with necessary College staff. In the case of reporting or contact tracing, GCNYC will maintain the confidentiality of the individual and inform them before sharing any personally identifiable information.

______________________________________________________________________________

PHYSICAL DISTANCING

Maintaining at least 6 feet (2 meters) from other people is not required in settings where everyone is vaccinated and wearing a mask over their mouth and nose. Individuals should, however, avoid crowding where possible.

______________________________________________________________________________

ENFORCEMENT

Non-compliance with the College’s Covid-19 health and safety policies has been added as an offense in the Code of Student Conduct policy within the GCNYC College Catalog. Individuals can report non-compliance or safety concerns to covidresponse@gcnyc.com.

______________________________________________________________________________

MODE OF ATTENDANCE OPTIONS: REMOTE AND/OR ON-CAMPUS

Students can attend classes in-person or remotely.  When registering for classes, students will select their preferred mode of attendance for the trimester. In-person seats will be limited on a first-come, first-served basis to ensure that all students can be socially distant in the classroom. Certain courses will remain completely remote. All classes will continue to be synchronous and held in the evening.

GCNYC is committed to delivering a learning experience that brings together students and faculty to discuss, debate and share knowledge. Graduate courses such as ours are joint enterprises, thus the student’s commitment to the mode of attendance is essential for providing a successful learning environment. An unexpected change in the mode of attendance impacts fellow students, the instructor, and staff scheduling. Students are expected to attend class in the mode of attendance in which they registered: either in-person or remotely.

While the College understands that an illness may warrant a student to attend remotely, two failures to attend class in the registered mode of attendance will result in one unexcused absence.
