Melinda Wang

Melinda Wang is a multi-hyphenate corporate lawyer, strategic advisor, angel investor, contemporary art curator and founder.

She has practiced corporate law since 2002, with a focus on mergers & acquisitions, capital markets, corporate governance and corporate finance. She also serves as outside general counsel to emerging and established businesses at every stage of their life-cycle. A strategic advisor in the fintech, blockchain-based technology and mediatech spaces, Melinda is also an active angel investor focused on women-founded social impact businesses.

Melinda is the Founder of MW Projects, a cultural production firm that brings contemporary art to historic sites, non-traditional venues and liminal spaces. She was previously the Executive Director of New York Artists Equity Association, a non-profit organization founded in 1947 to promote opportunities for artists, and she founded Equity Gallery in 2015. Melinda has curated or produced over 35 contemporary art exhibitions since 2010, with a focus on emerging artists and socially-engaged projects. As the Founder of Ninth Street Collective, she leads a team that helps empower artists by developing their entrepreneurial skills.

Melinda graduated from Princeton University in 1999, summa cum laude, and received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2002. She serves on the Board of Solar Responders and the Board of the Princeton Association of New York City and is active in NEW INC, the French-American Foundation, Dreamers & Doers, Princeton Alumni Angels, Pipeline Angels, Portfolia, the Venture Cooperative, Republic, The David Prize and several mentoring programs for entrepreneurs.
